Baby loss awareness week

Motherwell Cheshire CIO is proud to be part of Baby Loss Awareness Week, a nationwide
initiative dedicated to raising awareness and supporting families affected by the tragedy of
infant loss. Our charity, based in Cheshire, provides vital services such as counselling and
peer support groups for bereaved women, helping them navigate the emotional journey of
loss.
In honour of the week, Motherwell Cheshire CIO is organising an Infant Loss Awareness
Walk on Saturday, 28th September. The walk will start at 10 am outside the Cheshire Cat
in Nantwich, covering approximately 10 miles with a stop for lunch. Participants can either
secure sponsorship or make a £10 donation, with all proceeds supporting the charity’s Infant
Loss Counselling Service, which provides professional mental health support to grieving
women.
As part of the week’s events, Motherwell Cheshire CIO will also display a pink and blue
window to symbolise Baby Loss Awareness. The week will culminate in the charity’s annual
remembrance service at St Mary’s, Wistaston, led by Reverend Mike Turnbull on Sunday,
13th October at 5 pm. Families will have the opportunity to write their infants name or
messages of remembrance on Cherry Blossom tags to honour the babies they have lost,
which will be hung on a special tree. The Cherry Blossom represents the fragility of life and
renewal, making it a meaningful tribute.
‘We understand that Baby Loss Awareness Week can be an incredibly difficult time’ said
Jude, the Infant Loss Counsellor at Motherwell Cheshire CIO. ‘Our aim is to offer a safe
space for families to grieve and heal, and the funds raised through the walk will ensure we
can continue providing essential counselling services. ‘The public is invited to participate in the walk or donate to support the cause. For more
