Thank you to everyone that supported our Women’s Day events in Crewe on 9th March at Cheshire College South & West and at Winsford on 16th March at Winsford Lifestyle Centre.
They were two wonderful, interactive celebrations complete with marketplaces supported by local traders, along with an array of entertainment following the theme of Women of Words. See below for full press releases and photos.
We are pleased to announce the events raised a fabulous total of £3,500 which will allow us to continue to deliver of our initiatives, helping our local community.

Crewe Nub News: International Women’s Day celebrations in Crewe proved another crowd-puller, drawing hundreds of people to a fun-packed event organised by Motherwell Cheshire.
The women’s health and wellbeing charity, based in Wistaston, pulled off another triumph with its ninth annual celebration of all things womankind, filling the ground floor of Cheshire College – South & West with stalls, music and dance.
High sheriff of Cheshire, Dr Dennis Dunn, attended, along with Crewe town mayor, Dennis Straine-Francis and Cheshire East deputy mayor, Marilyn Houston, who each paid tribute to the charity’s work and effort in staging such a memorable day.
Winsford Women's Day
Northwich & Winsford Guardian: International Women’s Day Winsford at Brio Lifestyle Centre
Organised by women’s health and wellbeing charity Motherwell Cheshire, the event brought the town’s community together at Winsford Lifestyle Centre.
To open the event, the charity’s founder Kate Blakemore was joined by Lady Alexis Redmond MBE, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, and her husband Sir Phil Redmond, creator of TV hits such as Grange Hill and Hollyoaks.
Kate said: “We were delighted to see so many at the Lifestyle Centre on Saturday.
