Winsford, Cheshire – Motherwell Cheshire CIO, a dedicated women’s health and wellbeing charity, is proud to announce the upcoming ‘Winsford White Ribbon Awareness Day’ scheduled for November 25th at the Winsford Lifestyle Centre from 11 am to 1 pm. This significant event is set to rally the community in raising awareness and standing together against violence towards women and girls.
Supported by Winsford Town Council, Cheshire Police, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Homestart, and Mid Cheshire Mind, the ‘Winsford White Ribbon Awareness Day’ is aligned with the national annual day of collective action known as White Ribbon Day, dedicated to challenging violence against women and girls.
Recent statistics reveal a stark reality: 1 in 4 women has experienced sexual violence as adults, and an equally concerning 1 in 4 women has been subjected to domestic violence. Shockingly, 80% of all women in the UK report experiencing sexual harassment in public spaces. These figures underscore the urgency to address this pervasive issue.
Winsford Town Council’s accreditation as a White Ribbon Accredited Town underscores their commitment to challenging violence against women in the community.
